Principal's MessageSpring has finally sprung! We are so glad that the snow is disappearing and a trace of green grass is appearing. Our students are enjoying the warmer weather and are having lots of fun with their friends outside.

This has been a busy year with so much growing and learning. We have focused on literacy and numeracy skills every day and we’ve got many fabulous readers and lots of Math wizards! We are very proud of our students. Keeping track of every one of our students and their learning is important to us and we are happy to see that each student is definitely learning.

At Joussard School, our students grow in many more ways than just academics. We continue to focus every day on the 7 Grandfather Teachings and the 7 Habits. We want these teachings to be an integral part of each child’s life. These teachings will help the students all the way into successful adulthood.

The majority of our students are of First Nations or Metis heritage and this is a rich and important aspect of our school life. With assistance, our teachers are learning to apply foundational knowledge about First Nations and Metis people in student learning. This enhances the pride of our First Nations and Metis students in themselves and their heritage. With this pride, comes an increase in personal confidence and power – both of which enhance learning.

Our students are excellent participants in extra curricular activities and we have been so proud of our Archery Team and our Handgames Team. Not only are they great at their sports, the students represent our school in tournaments with respect and sportsmanship.

The year is flying by. Please remember that Joussard School is open and friendly and that families are always welcome!
